The last studio album was pretty good in my opinion. I think the length was about perfect. Im glad that they didnt pull a Guns and roses and release sex love and rock and roll versions I and II because then there would be a bunch of less impressive songs like live before you die.

i disagree adding road zombie, cant run no more, maybe a remix of behind closed doors, etc. would have made the record that everyone waited 8 years for worth while.. the last album and the greatest hits once again show that sd has no loyalty to their fans.. i for one am not blind.. i will not support a band that doesnt respect their fans no matter how much i like their music.. i will buy the cd used, and i wont go to their shows.. and no way in hell will i buy a cd of songs i already have for one or two new ones.. this group has lost the punk rock attitude not only in their music but in their actions..

Can someone show me the rule book on how to respect your fans? Because i dont think social d has disrespected their fans at all. They have not had one "horrible" album. yes the greatest hits wasn't what we expected but oh well. And has for them losing their punk rock status or whatever...isn't punk about doing whatever the hell you want to and how you want to? Sex love and rock n roll had just as many songs as the other albums.

I think people are starting to get a little greedy. Social d isn't one of those bands that puts out an album every 2 years. I think they go for quality more than quanity. And just because they write a song and play it live doesn't mean they have to put it on the new album or any album at all.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">You're entitled to your opinion but IMHO that's just a bunch of crap.
No matter what they do there will always be someone who will bitch and complain. When the album is filled with songs to the max people will say that it has too many fillers and if it's too short folks will complain about that.
Mike (all we all must have gotten used to that by now) prefers to spend time fixing his cars and tours for months at a time but was NEVER someone who spends half of the year in recording studios.
I would have loved to have a couple more tunes on SL&RR but hey...if they didn't have any more spare songs I'm ok with that...

I'd say -40 mins is perfect for a album. Quality over quantity. Also you can get 2 albums on a CD-R or (if old school) a cassette tape

All this complaining and bitching is making me laugh. I guess you can't please everyone.

you can't possibly say that a band that tours as much as sxdx doesn't respect their fans, they constantly deliver what their wants are longing for, live shows. besides, bear in mind that for mike ness the days of playing punkrock just for the heck of it and some gas or dope money are over, long over. making music is his profession and fortunately still his passion, but he has a family to support, bills to pay and whatnot. maybe most of us can't afford his hotrod and kustom bike building, vintage stuff collecting lifestyle, but i grant you that social distortion cannot afford to spend too many time producing an album because the time you spend in the making of an album is time where you don't earn money, it's time where you spend money.
